T-Bird Boys suffer a loss at home

Fall to Falcons 50-44

The Iola-Scandinavia Thunderbirds hosted the Amherst Falcons in a conference match up on Friday, January 9.

During the first quarter of play the Falcons outscored the T-Birds, 15-8, led by Connor Zblewski and Garrett Groshek with 6 points apiece.

I-S came back strong in the second quarter, with Kristian Welch sinking six points for the T-Birds, ending the first half of play with the T-Birds taking a 15-17 lead. 

The T-birds were not able to maintain their lead in the third quarter, which ended with the Falcons up by one point and a score of 27-26.

Evan Fuhs put 8 points on the board for the T-Birds during the 4th quarter of play, but it was not enough to get past the Falcons, who came away with a 50-44 victory.

Garrett Groshek led the scoring for Amherst with 16 points, followed by Tyler Biadasz with 15.

Evan Fuhs scored 14 points for the T-Birds, followed by Welch with 11.
