Bartelt, Clarence F.

Clarence F. Bartelt, age 94, of Fremont, died on Saturday, January 10, 2015 at Sheboygan Progressive Care Center. 

He was born on June 2, 1920, in Fremont, WI, the son of the late Frederick and Martha(Krenke)Bartelt. On October 9, 1948, Clarence married Shirley Brunow at Gospel Lutheran Church in Milwaukee. She preceded him in death on November 8, 2000. Clarence farmed in the Town of Fremont for 16 years. He also worked for Benson Corp. in Weyauwega for 21 years before retiring. Clarence was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Fremont, where he served as a former Men’s Club President, elder and member of the Lutheran Laymens League. He enjoyed fishing, playing dirtball, volunteering at Bethesda Thrift Mart, watching the Green Bay Packers and spending time with his grandchildren. 

Clarence is survived by two sons, Ronald(Debbie), Sheboygan, and Robert(Linda), Manawa; six grandchildren, Adam, David(Bridget), and Jill Bartelt, Tonya (Lee)VanevenHoven, Joel(Nicole)Jorgensen, and Tara(Frank)Ralls; 14 great-grandchildren, Iesha, Angel, Robin, Zach, Jacob, Olivia, Noah, Aysia, Kiya, Scarlett, Ireland, Aiden, Kelvin, and Evalina; a brother, Edgar(Marcella), Appleton; and a sister, Elda Turner, Fremont. 

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 15, 2015, at 12:00 Noon at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 107 Tustin Rd., Fremont. Pastor Stephen Pope will officiate. Burial will be in Wolf River Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday, at the church, from 10:30 AM until the time of service. A memorial fund has been established for St. Paul Lutheran Church, Fremont.
