Voters have the right to be heard

Beware. Three newly elected council members have just told every voter in Clintonville to sit down and shut up.

Mary Beth Kiester ,Jim Krause, and John Wilson voted no at the most recent council meeting and denied every voter in this city from voting for themselves. The question they stopped every voter from voting on was simple and it does not cost the city a nickel.

The question was do you want to see a future referendum on whether to remodel or build a new outdoor pool. That was it.

Those three decided it was not for you the voters to decide. All three made it perfectly clear they don’t want to see anything happen to the old pool except to close it for good. It is their personal opinion. You have no choice.

They don’t care what is in the best interest of the citizens and the city, they want to close it for good.

For 50 plus years the mom and dads and grandmas and grandpas of this city thought it was in the best interest of this city to have an outdoor pool for young and old alike. Now with the newly elected members, they feel otherwise with no facts or good alternatives.

This is exactly how this council has operated since last April. They have their own personal agendas and don’t have a problem voting against the future of this city. They have set this city back many years in record time.

I cannot vote in the city as I am not a resident but I do pay taxes. If I were able to vote I would be more than upset that an alderman told me I can’t vote.
