Ursin-Towns, Anita

Anita Idalyn (Thulien) Ursin-Towns, born December 15, 1919 to Oscar and Maren Thulien, passed away peacefully at the age of 95 on January 15th, 2015 at the Wisconsin Veterans Home at King, WI and entered into eternal rest in the Kingdom of our Lord. 

Anita graduated from Iola High School and attended Oshkosh Business College. She married Norman O. Ursin in 1942. They lived in Wittenberg, Berlin, Iola, and finally resided in Waupaca, becoming active members of the First Assembly of God Church. Since 1977, until her retirement in 1984, Anita Ursin had been committed to improving the delivery of services to the senior citizens of Waupaca County. She served as Project Director and Coordinator on Nutrition for the Commission on Aging and Nutrition for Waupaca County. 

Anita was preceded in death by her brother Omer Thulien and her husband Norman Ursin. She is survived by her husband (2004) Robert F. Towns and four children: Marlene (Richard) Mastenbrook, Tom (Diana) Ursin, Paula (Nick) Nicoloudis, Reverend Bruce (Susan) Ursin, along with nine grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, nephews and nieces. We would like to thank the staff at the Wisconsin Veterans Home and Hospice for the wonderful care that was given our mom. 

The funeral service will be held on February 12th at 10:30 am at the First Assembly of God Church in Waupaca. Visitation will precede the service at 9:30 am. The Holly Funeral Home of Waupaca will be assisting with the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to: “Waupaca County Nutrition Program” with a mailing address of Waupaca County ADRC, c/o Kristine Wiegman, 811 Harding St., Waupaca, Wisconsin 54981.
