Shufelt, Ronald W.

Ronald W. Shufelt, age 59, of Manawa (formerly of Clintonville) passed away Friday, January 30, 2015 due to a heart condition at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield. 

Ronald William Shufelt was born July 20, 1955 in Chicago, IL to Elmer and Joyce (Todd) Shufelt. Ron attended school in Antigo and as a teenager his family moved to the Tigerton/Split Rock area. He worked with his father as an auto mechanic and doing auto body repair for many years. Then Ron began driving semi over the road for Roger Polley of Tigerton which he did for some time. He moved to Clintonville in the late 1970s and lived in the area until settling in Manawa in 2004. Ron did lots of scrap metal hauling and he enjoyed scavenging for parts for classic cars that he worked on. Ron had a wonderful sense of humor, was always the prankster, and could share a good joke with anyone. He also loved the outdoors, going camping, and going for a walk with his dogs, Misty and Sadie. 

Survivors include his fiancée, Sherry Muthig; three children, Dana Shufelt of Scandinavia, Josh Shufelt of Clintonville, and Zach Linders of Manawa, and three grandchildren. There are six brothers and sisters, Robert (April) Shufelt of Clintonville, Jacki (Bret) Moder of Clintonville, Sandra Jepson of Clintonville, Cheryl (Dion) Rice of Twin Lakes, Brett (Linda) Shufelt of Clintonville, and Bart Shufelt of Upper Michigan. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, many other relatives and friends. Ron is preceded in death by his parents, two infant granddaughters, a niece, Fawn Moder, and a brother-in-law, Marlyn Jepson. 

Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, February 7th at 7:00 p.m. at the Beil-Didier Funeral Home, Clintonville. Rev. Ben Hollingshead will officiate and burial will be in the spring at Union Cemetery, Symco. Friends may call on Saturday from 5:00 p.m. until time of the service at the funeral home.
