Eris I. Hartzke, age 88 of Bloomfield, died on Sunday, February 15, 2015 at her home.
She was born on February 12, 1927 in the Town of Saxeville, the daughter of the late Irvin and Norma (Boelter) Behn. On October 26, 1947, Eris married Louis Hartzke at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Weyauwega. Eris was a member of Christ Lutheran Church in West Bloomfield and served as church organist for 38 years. She was also a member of the Ladies Aid and the Choir. Eris enjoyed gardening, lawn mowing, and music and was a member of the West Bloomfield band.
Eris is survived by her husband of 67 years, Louis; two sons, Tom (Diane), Weyauwega; and Stan (Josie), Berlin; seven grandchildren and their families: Tim, and his daughter, Katherine; Emily(Michael)Nikolai, and their sons, Sam, Vin and Jay; Elizabeth (Matt) Hysen; Jennifer (Tom) Keller, and their children, Blaine, Gabi and Justice; Brian (Cindy); Luke(Jill), and their daughter, Autumn; Clint (Brenda), and their children, Caliber and Katera; other relatives and friends. Eris was preceded in death by a son, Bob.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 19, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Christ Lutheran Church, N6412 State Rd. 49, Weyauwega. Rev. John Taggatz will officiate. Burial will be in Concordia Cemetery in West Bloomfield. Visitation will be held on Thursday, at the church, from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service. The Lewin Funeral Home, Fremont is assisting the family with arrangements.
