Carlson, Darlene J.

Darlene J. Carlson, age 71, of Shiocton passed away on Wednesday, March 18, 2015 surrounded by her loving family, following a courageous fight with (ALS) Lou Gehrigs disease. 

She was born on April 6, 1943 in New London, daughter of the late Alfred Sr. and Virginia (Alberts) Bellile. She was united in marriage to Donald Carlson on December 8, 1978. Darlene was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was an avid Badger fan and a member of the Big Red Booster Club. Darlene worked at Simmons for many years before retiring in 1999 and also was a recording secretary for the Steel Workers Union. She also worked at Appleton Medical Center for several years and helped out managing the family farm. 

Darlene is survived by her husband, Donald; her children: Darin Palmer (fiancée Jackie Johnson), Kristina (Eric) Palmer-Stamper, Ryan (Jessica) Carlson and Dace (Cynthia) Carlson; grandchildren: Jenalle Johnson, Jeremiah (Cara) Johnson, Leah (Brian) Kern, Kimberly (Cory) Huettl, Jared Colwitz, Owen Carlson, Jayden Carlson, Josephine Erickson and Wyatt Erickson; great-grandchildren: Landon Kern, Mason Kern, Allison Kern and Jessa Huettl. She is also expecting another great-grandchild in the near future. She is further survived by brothers and sisters: Dale (Sally) Bellile, Sandy (Gerald) Wolfgram, Dennis Bellile, David (Diane) Bellile, Don Bellile, Debbie (Tom) Kling; sisters-in-law, Marsha Bellile, Carol Rettler (Gerald Uhlenbrauck); brothers-in-law, Ken (Shinobu) Carlson and Dennis (Genie) Carlson. Darlene is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Darlene was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Kevin, Bill and Alfred Jr. Bellile, and sisters-in-law, Barb Bellile, Janice Carlson and Patricia Bellile and brother-in-law James Carlson, mother-in-law and father-in-law Josephine and Earl Carlson and an uncle, Glenn Carlson. 

A funeral service will be held for Darlene on Tuesday, March 24, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Cline-Hanson Funeral Home in New London with Fr. Peter Mitchell officiating. A visitation will be held on Monday, March 23rd from 4-8 p.m. and again on Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will be held at the Floral Hill Cemetery, New London. A memorial fund has been established.
