Community Health Fair in Iola

The annual Community Health Fair will be held from 7-10 a.m. Saturday, April 11, at the Iola-Scandinavia Community Fitness & Aquatic Center.

The event is sponsored by the Iola Lions and Riverside Medical Center.

Thedacare Waupaca (Riverside Medical Center) will offer two common lab tests at no charge. These tests are blood glucose and a lipid panel, which includes the total cholesterol value as well as LDL, HDL (the “good’ and “bad” cholesterol) and triglycerides.

Both tests are free and should be performed with the patient fasting for a minimum of eight hours (water is permitted).

The Iola Lions will display the Spot Vision Camera with testing available.

Stephanie Yenter, RN, program coordinator for cardiac and pulmonary rehab at Riverside Medical Center, will be available to answer questions regarding pulmonary and cardiac problems and how to cope with them on daily basis.

Balance testing and blood pressure screening will be available.

Ministry Medical Care will be at the event providing information on children’s wellness and vaccinations.

Strong Bones program information will be provided the I-S Fitness & Aquatic Center.

Acupuncture, diabetes information, chiropractor care and numerous health care specialists will be available.

Information on carbon monoxide and smoke alarms will be offered by the Iola & Rural Fire Department.

Hidden Greenhouse will display health benefits of gardening and provide an opportunity to play in the dirt.

The Iola Lions will be collecting used eye glasses and hearing aids.

The Iola-Scandinavia Leo Club will have a pancake breakfast as a fund raiser for their club.
