Dayton incumbents’ qualifications questionable

I noted with great interest the recent letter from Lee Newsome relating to the upcoming town of Dayton election.

His major “theme” seems to be “qualifications.” I would be interested in the “qualifications” that his three recommended candidates had when they began their “service”. What qualifications did Glen Newsome have when he became a supervisor? In fact how many meetings did Mr. Newsome attend before he was elected?

If “qualifications” are an essential ingredient for election why isn’t he recommending the current chairman for re-election?

Although I am only a summer resident I have attended many town meetings and conclude that all those who have “qualifications” did was to agree with and support everything the current town chairman did, including spending thousands of dollars for legal fees, new buildings, higher salaries and dams.

Dayton can do better with a change in leadership.
