Indians drop first two games

It’s been a rough start to the season so far for the Weyauwega-Fremont baseball team.

The Indians have been outscored 20-1 in their first two games, including a 12-0 five-inning loss April 2 to Mosinee.

W-F also opened the season march 31 with an 8-1 home loss to Wautoma.

Wautoma broke a scoreless tie by scoring six runs in the top of the fifth inning before adding single runs in the sixth and seventh frames.

W-F came up with its run in the bottom of the seventh.

Peter Nicholson took the loss for the Indians, while Trevor Wetzel and Kaleb Sciborski doubled for two of the team’s four hits.

Nolan Hinz, Mitch Winter and Jared Lois had two hits for the Hornets.

The Indians opened Central Wisconsin 8 Conference play April 7 in Amherst and will host Shiocton at 4:30 p.m. Thursday, April 9. W-F will also host Omro at 4:30 p.m. Friday, April 10, in a nonconference matchup.
