New chair, new board in Royalton

The town of Royalton has a new chairman and new supervisors following the Tuesday, April 7 election.

John Jaeckle was elected chairman. He ran unopposed and received 222 votes.

He succeeds Duane Bork, who served as Royalton’s chairman for 18 years and did not seek re-election.

Gerald Roen was elected Supervisor No. 1, after receiving 142 votes to incumbent Alvin Thiel’s 108 votes.

In the contested Supervisor No. 2 race, Richard Togstad defeated incumbent Marlyn Ebert. Togstad received 141 votes, while Ebert received 109 votes.

Incumbents Debra Buchholz and Patricia Craig ran unopposed for clerk and treasurer respectively. Both received 238 votes in Tuesday’s election.
