Who you gonna? call?

April 12-18 is National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week.

The Waupaca County Sheriff’s Office is recognizing the telecommunications officers who take 911 calls and dispatch deputies to emergencies.

The event has been celebrated annually since 1991 when Congress first proclaimed the second week of April to honor emergency telecommunicators nationwide.

Around the clock, these men and women respond to emergency calls, dispatch police, fire and ambulance professionals to those emergencies, and render life-saving assistance to citizens who make the calls.
