Polar Bears off to hot start

The Hortonville boys’ baseball team is off to a quick 4-0 start.

The team got its winning ways going the end of March when it traveled to Waupun and came back home with a 10-0 victory.

Three days later it traveled to Waunakee and plated a 17-5 victory.

The team hosted Shawano on Tuesday, April 7 and again came away with shutout and 10-0 victory.

On Friday, April 7 the team traveled to De Pere and wasted no time getting on the scoreboard. Jake Sommers hit a two-run home run in the first inning to start the scoring. The Polar Bears scored two more runs in the fourth inning and three runs in the fifth inning.

Hortonville won the game 7-1.

Reece Fredrick led Hortonville at the plate with three hits in four at bats. Mike Gross had two hits.

Jonny Van Liere was the winning pitcher.
