Polar Bears split two games

The Polar Bear softball team opened its home season with a 4-0 loss against the Kaukauna Ghosts, Tuesday, April 7.

Hortonville’s Sammi Sullivan pitched a complete game, struck out 12 batters, and walked one.

The team traveled to Appleton North on Monday, April 13, where they defeated Appleton North 6-2.

Hortonville trailed 1-0 before scoring three runs in the fifth inning to take the lead. The Polar Bears scored three more runs in the top of the seventh inning to seal the victory and advance their record to 1-1.
