Waupaca golfers set lofty goals

Three first-team all-conference golfers are back this season for the Waupaca boys’ golf team.

The roster includes those three seniors – Hunter Carrick, Turner Kelly and Frankie Ellingson – along with seniors Ben Stone and Max Hansen; juniors Elliot Crisman and Ryan Pulvermacher; sophomores Tegan Noltner, Alex Panzenhagen and Isaac Wright; and freshmen Noah Carrick, Mason Gardner, Spencer Grams and Brett Hanke.

“We have an experienced team led by the five seniors,” coach Tom Noltner said. “They have worked hard in the offseason preparing for this season and have very lofty goals for the season. We would like to repeat as Eastern Valley Conference champs, advance the team in regionals and sectionals and qualify for state. If they continue to work hard and stay focused, they can accomplish anything as a team.”

Waupaca opened the season April 10 at the Wautoma Invitational and opened Eastern Valley Conference play April 13 in Clintonville. The Comets hosted Fox Valley Lutheran and Ripon April 14 at the Waupaca Country Club and will host Winneconne at 4 p.m. Tuesday, April 21,
