Waupaca’s boys’ golf team opened Eastern Valley Conference play with recent wins over Fox Valley Lutheran, Ripon and Clintonville.
The Comets outshot FVL and Ripon April 14 at the Waupaca Country Club and picked up a win over Clintonville April 13 on the Truckers’ home course.

WAUPACA – Hunter Carrick led the Comets with a 41 and tied for medalist honors with Ripon’s Reed Schoney, who aced the par-3, 204-yard third hole with a 4-iron.
Other scores for Waupaca were Ben Stone (43), Turner Kelly (44), Frankie Ellingson (46) and Max Hansen (50).
The Comets also won the junior varsity match with a 200, followed by FVL (225) and Ripon (273). Scores for Waupaca were Mason Gardner (47), Isaac Wright (49), Elliot Crisman (51), Noah Carrick (53) and Tegan Noltner (58).

CLINTONVILLE – Waupaca outshot the Truckers by 36 strokes at Riverside Golf Course.
Hunter Carrick turned in the low round of the day with a 39, followed by Ellingson (41); Kelly and Stone (44); and Hansen (46).
The Comet JV team outshot the Truckers 182-291.
Scores for Waupaca were Gardner (41), Wright (43), Noah Carrick (46), Crisman (52) and Noltner (59).
The Comets hosted Winneconne April 21 and are off until they had to Neenah’s Ridgeway Golf & Country Club for a conference match with Little Chute and Appleton Xavier.
