DECA students qualify for national competition

New London students are traveling to Florida to attend the DECA International Career Development Conference

Eleven New London DECA students will be traveling to Orlando, Florida Friday April 24, to attend the DECA International Career Development Conference (ICDC).

The conference is the final step in competition for the 2014-15 school year.

The DECA students have competed at the district and state level before qualifying for the national competition.

Students who have qualified and their competition event include the following: Maddie Schroeder, Sam Porath, and Grace Mroczynski for School Based Enterprise for Percy’s Pro Shop; Evan Taber and Emma Hoier for Marketing Communications; Macy Madsen and Payton Mix for Public Relations for Family Fitness Bag; Cole Thomson and Micah Ives for Buying and Merchandising; Ryne Goedderz for Buying and Merchandising Operations Research; and Brittany Zehner for Gold Chapter.

These students will be presenting to business professionals, performing role plays, taking tests, and networking with business professionals and other DECA students.
