The Iola man accused of giving a Waupaca woman the heroin that resulted in her overdose on April 14 was himself taken to a hospital for a heroin overdose three months earlier.
Clayton S. Vomberg, 22, was charged April 22 with possession of narcotics and possession of drug paraphernalia as a result of the earlier incident.
On Jan. 12, Waupaca County Sheriff’s Deputy Cameron Durrant was dispatched to a home in Iola in response to a drug overdose.
After he arrived, Durrant spoke with Vomberg’s mother, who said she found him by his bed, slumped over and making a gurgling sound. She laid Vomberg on his bed to help him breath and called for an ambulance.
Durrant also found two syringes and a silver spoon.
Durrant questioned Vomberg at Riverside Medical Center. Vomberg told Durrant he injected heroin into his arm, the criminal complaint says.
