Building poses harm to wildlife’s home

As future members of the Oz Natural Area Management Committee, we strongly oppose the construction of the proposed environmental education building.

When our family donated the land, 17 years ago after our grandfather passed, we intended to donate the land to share the natural beauty of the wetland and surrounding forest with our community, and to most importantly, preserve the land we hold close to our hearts.

This is the land we played upon as young children searching and catching frogs and salamanders, climbing the many grandfather and grandmother trees and rocks, and where we developed our passion and appreciation for nature.

By building this obstrusive construction, our intended picture of Oz dissipates as we write this letter.

The building would destroy the secluded treasurers the Oz land holds.

If the building is absolutely necessary please consider moving it to Swan park, or another location that is less environmentally sensitive.

Additionally, the construction poses great harm to the home of many species of birds, fish, turtles and salamanders, which inhabitat and depend upon the wetland and uplands for survival.

It is their home, and deserves to remain untouched.

Although their voices may not be heard, please hear ours.
