Boys’ golf teams from Iola-Scandinavia, Weyauwega-Fremont and Manawa competed at recent meets in Waupaca and Iola.
W-F hosted a 12-team meet April 28 at Waupaca’s Foxfire Golf Club. I-S placed second with a score of 364, while Manawa was fourth with a 387 and W-F fifth with a 392.
Meanwhile, the three teams also headed to Iola’s Glacier Wood Golf Course April 27. I-S placed second with a 191, W-F was third with a 198 and Manawa was fourth with a 204.
Zach Mortenson led I-S at Foxfire with an 80, while other scores for the Thunderbirds were Jon Bauer (86); Chase Przybylski and Ryan Melum (99); and Cody Breitzke (112).
Alex Hulbert led W-F at Foxfire with a 94, followed by Jake Young (98), Trevor Flease (99), Will Young (101) and Taylor Berndt (104).
Ryan Schuelke led Manawa with an 81 at Foxfire, followed by David Blum (88), Matt Radloff 9107) and Alex Koweleski (111).
Individual scores for the Thunderbirds at Glacier Wood were Mortenson (42), Bauer (45), Pryzybylski (51), Melum (53) and Justin Krause (66).
Scores for the Indians were Hulbert (45), Flease (49), Jake Young (51), Berndt (53) and Will Young (57).
Scores for the Wolves were Blum (47); Schuelke (48); Koweleski (49); and Scott Schuelke and Radloff (60).
All three teams will be at the I-S Invitational, scheduled for 9 a.m. Saturday, May 9, at the Waupaca Country Club. Teams from Wisconsin Rapids Assumption, Bonduel, Gresham, Marion, Newman Catholic, Stevens Point Pacelli, Wittenberg-Birnamwood and Marathon will also compete.
