The Bulldog baseball team hosted the Shawano Hawks on Tuesday, May 5, and then traveled to Shawano on May 7 for a chance to avenge their 9-2 loss at home.
At New London, Shawano started out hot at bat scoring five runs in the first inning. The Hawks put two more runs on the board in the top of the second.
New London scored their only two runs in the bottom of the sixth off Tyler Jagiello’s two-run homerun. Jagiello batted in teammate Will Wohlt, who reached on a double.
Jagiello batted 1 x3, Wohlt went 1×1, and Tommy Thurber 1×4.
Shawano 4, New London 2
New London had nine hits in the game but could only convert two runs in a 4-2 loss to the Hawks on May 7.
Shawano scored two runs in the bottom of the first. New London’s two runs came in the top of the second and third innings.
New London’s Lane Hanadel and Alex Stichman each went 2×3 at the plate. Stichman also had an RBI. Tyler Jagiello went 1×2 with an RBI. Tommy Thurber went 2×4, and Aaron Yorkson went 1×3.
Hanadel struck out five batters from the mound.
The Bulldogs host Clintonville in a double header on Thursday, May 14. The first game begins at 4:30 p.m. with the second game to follow at 6 p.m.
