Driver fatally injured in crash

A driver involved in a two-vehicle crash shortly before 5 p.m. Tuesday, May 27, in the town of Dayton died Sunday.

According to the Waupaca County Sheriff’s Office, Thomas Llewellyn, 71, of Waupaca, was driving southbound on County Road QQ and had stopped at a stop sign at the intersection with State Highway 22.

A vehicle driven by Wyatt Lemmers, 21, of Oshkosh, was traveling eastbound on State 22.

Llewellyn then drove into the intersection and slowed down and sped up, failing to yield the right-of-way to the eastbound vehicle. Llewellyn’s vehicle collided with the Lemmers’ vehicle.

Llewellyn suffered massive head trauma and was transported via ambulance to Riverside Medical Center. He was then airlifted to Theda Clark Medical Center in Neenah, where he later succumbed to his injuries.

Lemmers and his passenger, Yvonne Cohen, 19, of Neenah, sustained minor injuries and were treated at the hospital in Waupaca.
