Film shows Waupaca in 1930s

The Waupaca Historical Society will present “Waupaca Circa 1938” at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, June 25, at the Holly History and Genealogy Center, 321 S. Main St.

“Waupaca Circa 1938” is a 70-minute, archival film showing daily life in Waupaca in the late 1930s. The movie includes scenes of people working, shopping, going to church and driving down Main Street.

Period music has been dubbed over the silent film footage.

Local historian Mike Kirk will give a short introduction to the film.

The movie is free and oen to the public. Free soda and popcorn will be available to the audience.

DVD copies of “Waupaca Circa 1938” will be for sale for $20 on the evening of June 25, or by calling the Waupaca Historical Society at 715-256-9980.
