Clintonville residents can search for a free book to read in the little library houses located at Dellwood Early Learning Center .

Tara Zeal, pupil services director for the Clintonville School District, funded a project to have Mike Wespetal’s shop classes make two little library houses.

When the structures were complete, they sent them to Dellwood Early Learning Center for use. The library buildings were not painted, so Dellwood teachers John Young and Heather Heilman primed the houses to prepare them for painting with their 4K classes.

In a combined effort, students took turns painting the houses together. The morning classes painted the yellow house and the afternoon classes painted the red house. Both houses are now sitting outside the entrance of Dellwood for Dellwood families to use as well as the community.

Adult reading is housed in the yellow house and children’s books are housed the red one. Anyone can come and take a book home. When done either return the book or come back with a different one from home to replace the one you took.

Heilman said she hopes these houses bring the joy of reading at home and she also hopes the community will go book shopping in front of the school.
