Fuller, Sandra L.

Sandra L. Fuller, age 70, of New London, passed away on Saturday, July 4, 2015 at her residence.

She was born on February 11, 1945 in New London, daughter of the late Earl and Marie (Watson) Thern. On February 14, 1985, she was united in marriage to Tony Fuller at the United Methodist Church in New London.

Sandra was a retired teacher and librarian. She began her career as an English and Journalism teacher at Winneconne schools. She taught in the Library Science Department at UW-Oshkosh, and was a public services (reference) librarian at the same university. From 1985-1987 she directed the St. Croix County Library Service. In 1989 she developed the opening day library collection for a new elementary school for 1200 students in Kingsford, Michigan. From 1998 -2009 she served as a K-12 librarian for the Montello School District. In 2011 Sandra was named president of the Wisconsin Organization of the Delta Kappa Gamma Society International. Delta Kappa Gamma is an organization of women educators that promotes the personal and professional development of teachers.

Sandra grew up on a dairy farm in the Northeast corner of New London, that was once the site of the New London Fair from 1891 – 1912. Sandra enjoyed researching the Fair era. Having remodeled the farmstead, she loved hosting groups for a meal, a program about the Fair, and a tour of the house. Sandra was an active member of the New London United Methodist Church.

She is survived by her husband Tony; daughter, Kristin (Jeff) Dedering; one grandson, Harrison; sister-in-law, Bonnie (Steve) Lynch and nephew, Patrick; brother-in-law, Terry (Mercedes) Fuller.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband Gary Taubel.

The funeral service for Sandra will be held on Wednesday, July 8, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at the United Methodist Church in New London with Rev. Joyce Rich officiating. Burial will be in Floral Hill Cemetery in New London. A visitation for Sandra will take place at the Cline & Hanson Funeral Home in New London on Tuesday from 5-8 p.m., and on Wednesday at the church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service. The Cline-Hanson Funeral Home in New London is serving the family.
