Alice M. Baier, age 96 of Waupaca, WI passed away on Monday, August 3, 2015 at Bethany Home in Waupaca, WI.
Alice was born in Oshkosh, Wisconsin on August 2, 1919, the daughter of the late Alois and Barbara (Lercher) Weinbacher. On November 29, 1947 Alice married William J. Baier in Oshkosh and he preceded her in death on May 21, 1958. Her sisters, Martha, Harriet and Florence Weinbacher also preceded her in death. She is a member of St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church, Waupaca, Wisconsin.
Alice is survived by her daughter, Barbara Baier, Oshkosh WI; her son, William Baier, Denver CO; granddaughter, Jennifer Schoenrock, Oshkosh, WI; granddaughter, Heather Larsen, Mt. Holly, NJ; grandson, Matthew Schoenrock, Madison, WI; granddaughter, Sarah Baier, Denver CO; granddaughter, Courtney Baier, Denver CO; and ‘Brother’ and Best Friend Fr. Jim Vennix, Waupaca WI. Alice had a special place in her heart for children with special needs. At 40 years of age Alice enrolled at UW-Oshkosh. After earning her Bachelor’s degree Alice, went on to teach them in the Oshkosh Public School System. Alice loved to travel, and was fortunate to visit all seven continents. A highlight was finding living relatives in Austria, and the home her father was born in.
Visitation will be Saturday, August 8th at 8:30 a.m. followed by the Funeral Mass at 9:30 a.m. at Saint Mary Magdalene Catholic Church, Waupaca. Her burial will in Calvary Cemetery, Oshkosh, next to her husband.
