Janice A. Grunwald, age 79, of New London, died on Friday, August 21, 2015 at St. Joseph Residence in New London.
She was born on March 15, 1936, the daughter of the late Arthur and Lois (Talady) Krueger. On August 22, 1953, Janice married Wallace Grunwald at Zion Lutheran Church in Readfield. Together they farmed for many years in the Town of Caledonia. Wallace preceded her in death on March 5, 2004. After retiring, Janice managed Rosewood Glen Apartments in New London for many years, she also helped her husband deliver medication for Jernegan’s Pharmacy, where she will always be remembered as ‘Jan in the van’, and she also worked at the New London Senior Center. Janice will always be remembered for her wonderful baking skills. She was a member of First Congregational United Church of Christ in New London.
Janice is survived by her daughter, Lori (Dale) Schmidt, Fremont, and their son AJ; her son, Brian (Lisa) Grunwald, Alcoa, TN, two step-grandsons, Jess and Eddie; two sisters-in-law, Joyce Thomas, Appleton and Charlotte Grunwald, Fremont; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Donna (Lou) D’Andrea, Oshkosh; a dear friend, Kim Ebert, New London; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by a brother, Robert (Grace) Krueger; a sister, Ardys (Bud) Bunnell; two brothers-in-law, LaVerne Grunwald and Terry Thomas; a step-grandson, Joey Cavender; and a niece, Barbara Kelly.
A private celebration of Janice’s life will be held. A memorial fund has been established for First Congregational UCC Praise Band. The Lewin Funeral Home, Fremont is assisting the family with arrangments.
