Time to get over John Doe

Reader says state Supreme Court put the issue to rest

How long has this game been over? How long will the losers cry? Be it sports, politics or any other contest, there are always winners and losers.

And yet, in the case of John Doe, how many rulings, and how many years will it take to bury the hatchet? The majority of our Wisconsin judges have ruled against John Doe. The Wisconsin Supreme Court made the final ruling against John Doe in July 2015. It’s over. Get over it.

Yet, there are still people who are trying to get John Doe into the U.S. Supreme Court.
There are still complaints against donations to Republican candidates for public office. Aside from these being legal, are there not like contributions to Democrat candidates as well?

How about the millions given to people like Doyle, Abrahamson, Barrett, Lautenslager, Kloppenburg and Feingold? The list goes on, but suffice to say that monies are contributed to candidates on both sides of the aisle. This has always been, and will always be.

For the complete and detailed statistics on John Doe, all one has to do is Google “Wall Street Journal John Doe.”

There are dozens of pressing and critical issues to confront in our country, and we need to use our energy to fight them, and to accept the firm rulings of the past. As Democrats have often said about Republican issues and happenings, “It’s old news.”
