The noncompetitive walk raises funds for Waupaca parks, River Ridge Trail and Project Backpack. The event encourages walking as a healthy, physical activity for members of the community.
Participants may choose to walk one mile, 10K or 5K.
Registrations will be accepted now and until Saturday, from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m.
There is no specific start time for those participating in the one-mile walk.
The 10K walk begins at 8:30 a.m. at Swan Park and follows portions of the River Ridge Trail and the surrounding area.
The 5K walk starts at 9:30 a.m. and includes parts of River Ridge Trail and Brainard’s Bridge.
Registration fees are $12 for ages 5-12 and $20 for ages 13 and older. Teams of four may register for $60.
Organizers ask that walkers leave their pets at home for this event.
Participants in the Walk for Wellness, along with families and friends who support the River Ridge Trail, are welcome to gather for snacks and fellowship at 10:30 a.m. at Swan Park.
Advance registrations are also available at the Waupaca Rec Center and Waupaca Chiropractic Center.
