Hortonville nabs two golf wins

Girls take seventh in 22-team invitational

The Hortonville girls’ golf team won two golf duals at Grand View Golf Club and claimed seventh at an invitational on the road last week.

Appleton West invite
NEENAH – The Polar Bears cracked the top third of the 22-team Appleton West Terror Invitational on Saturday, Sept. 19.

The Polar Bears finished seventh on 18 holes with a combined 376, four strokes behind Divine Savior Holy Angels in Milwaukee and five strokes ahead of Sheboygan. Brookfield Central won the match with a 328.

Individually, Chloe Crusan, Bree Downie and Abby Nelson all tied with an 87. Abbey Karns finished fourth for Hortonville with a 115.

HORTONVILLE – Hortonville golfers took the top three finishes at Grand View Golf Club on Thursday, Sept. 17. Abby Nelson hit a 42 to win her first golf match of the season. Chloe Crusan golfed a 44 and Bree Downie produced a 45.

Hortonville 182, Fond du Lac 197
HORTONVILLE – The Polar Bears had a strong day on their home course Sept. 15, defeating the Cardinals by 15 strokes.

Crusan and Downie tied with a 42 for the first two spots. Fond du Lac’s first finisher came in third with a 44.
