Heroin charge filed

A New London man is accused of selling heroin to a police informant within hours after he was released from jail.

Joshua M. Healy, 30, New London, is charged with felony delivery of heroin. He is also charged as a repeat offender.

On Sept. 30, 2014, Healy allegedly called an informant and arranged to sell two bindles of heroin to him for $100.

According to the criminal complaint, Healy told the informant he needed to meet with his parole officer at 10 a.m., but would contact him as soon as the meeting was out.

Early that afternoon, New London Police Officer Nick Kamba drove the informant to the intersection of Shiocton and Lima streets, where Detective Josh Wilson videotaped a drug transaction between Healy and the informant, the complaint says.
