Ilene M. Volz, age 96, of New London passed away on Saturday, October 3, 2015 at Kindred Hearts in New London.
Ilene was born on May 3, 1919 in the Town of Lebanon to the late Christian and Lottie (Gerndt) Tech. On June 14, 1941, she was united in marriage to Eldor Volz in New London. Ilene was a proud teacher at Emanuel Lutheran School in her younger years. She was a very good cook and listened to the Brewer and Packer games.
Ilene is survived by two daughters, Sherry (James) Crain and Emily (Gordon) Schirpke; two sons, Allan (Judy) Volz and Dennis (Carol) Volz; two brothers, Harry (Marcellyn) Tech and Harold (Thelma) Tech, daughter-in-law, Cathy Volz; 14 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Ilene is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Eldor (1975), a son Russel and a sister Marie Kusserow.
A funeral service for Ilene will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 6, 2015 at Emanuel Lutheran Church, New London with Rev. Marcus Schulz officiating. Visitation will be from 9:30- 11:00 directly at the church. Burial will be at Emanuel Lutheran Cemetery in New London. The family would like to thank the staff and nurses at Kindred Hearts and Heartland Hospice for their exceptional care of Ilene.
