Much, Gene “Barney” F.

Gene “Barney” F. Much, age 77, of Manawa, passed away on Tuesday, October 6, 2015 at his residence.

He was born on April 2, 1938 in the Town of Helvetia, Waupaca County, son of the late Frederick and Alma (Krueger) Much. Barney worked for over 40 years at Sturm & Son’s in Manawa, retiring in 2000. He enjoyed working on tractors, going to tractor shows, and attending the Thresheree in Symco, where he was a member of the Thresheree Club. He was also a member of St. Mark Lutheran Church in Symco.

He is survived by his children: Eugene (Julia), Keith (Brenda), Janna (Mike), Shannon, Janelle (Steve), Jeanette (Kevin), Sheldon (Michelle); grandchildren: Melissa (Andy), Kelley, Mark (Katy), Cody, Kelsey (Kevin), Kerri, Brittney (Andy), Derrick, Kyle, Trevor, Tori, Kayla (Cody), Jacob, Samantha and Stephanie; great-grandchildren: Braiden, Issac, Austyn and Bentley; siblings: Severna Roe, Vern Much, Bill (Judy) Much, Ray (Judy) Much, and Audrey Rohde. He is further survived by his former wife and mother of his children, Jean; Kris (Lenny) Heimbruch, Paul Evers, nieces, nephews, other relatives and special friends, Sadie and Mona. He was preceded in death by his parents, a son Faron, grandson Daniel, a twin infant brother Eugene, sister-in-law Phylis Much and brother-in-law Greg Rohde.

The funeral service for Gene will be held on Monday, October 12, 2015, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mark Lutheran Church in Symco with Rev. Jeffrey Smiles officiating. Burial will be in Union Cemetery in the Town of Union. A visitation for Gene will be held on Sunday, October 11, 2015 from 4-7 p.m. at the Cline-Hanson-Dahlke Funeral Home in Manawa and on Monday at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
