Norma I. Baur, 92, of Somerset, Ohio, formerly of Clintonville, Wisconsin, died at 3:55 a.m. Wednesday, October 14, 2015 at her residence.
Norma was born January 31, 1923 in New Orleans, Louisiana, the daughter of the late Walter and Anna Rieger Weinig. She was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church and the Somerset Ameri-can Legion Ladies Auxiliary. She loved traveling the United States with her husband in their R.V., and playing cards with family and friends. She was an avid Green Bay Packers Fan.
Norma was the loving mother of four daughters, Kathy (Carl) Rettig of Dearborn, MI; Beth Green of Somerset, Patti (Todd) Duffett of Grosse Ile, MI and Susie (Pete) Budka of Livonia, MI; a brother, Joseph (Jean) Weinig of Wisconsin; 12 grandchildren, Heather (Dan) Plinka, Jennifer (Mike) Corbett, Tracey (Matthew) Rabish, Michelle (Michael) Habernal, Jackie and Robbie Bowne, Lindsay and Natalie Green, Adam (Devin) Green, Thomas Duffett, Jonathan (Kristin) Duffett and Patrick (Gina) Duffett; eight great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Joseph C. Baur (Nov. 26, 2007); a daughter, Maureen Bowne; a grandson, Joseph Bowne; two brothers, Walter Jr. and Raymond Weinig; and a sister, Estelle Rast.
Friends may call from 3-6 p.m. on Sunday, October 18, 2015 at the Bope-Thomas Funeral Home in Somerset. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 19, 2015 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Somerset with Father Stephen Carmody as celebrant, assisted by the Rev. Mr. Gene Dawson. Burial will follow in Holy Trinity Catholic Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Somerset American Legion Leo Ryan Post 58, P.O.
