Waupaca’s Rotta making first trip
One area team and seven individuals have qualified for the WIAA State Cross Country Meet, set for Saturday, Oct. 31, at The Ridges Golf Course in Wisconsin Rapids.
Local qualifiers include Hortonville’s Hannah Lohrenz (Division 1 girls); Waupaca’s Mitchell Rotta (Division 2 boys); Clintonville’s Kara Pyatskowit (Division 2 girls); Iola-Scandinavia’s Leighten Fischer and Erika Kisting (Division 3 girls); Amherst’s Alissa Niggemann, Anja Werner, Lindsay Dose, Rebecca Ostrowski and Victoria Weier (Division 3 girls’ team qualifier) and Seth Barnes (Division 3 boys); and Marion’s Delaney Greene-Gretzinger (Division 3 girls).
Scheduled starting times are Division 3 girls, noon; Division 2 girls, 12:40 p.m.; Division 1 girls, 1:20 p.m.; Division 3 boys, 2 p.m.; Division 2 boys, 2:35 p.m.; Division 1 boys, 3:10 p.m. Awards will be presented at 4:30 p.m. at Lincoln High School.
Spectator parking is not available at or near the golf course. Shuttle buses will run from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. from Lincoln High School, 1801 16th St. S.; Hockey Rink Field, 1731 Grove Ave.; and the Grand Rapids Lions Club, 2411 36th St. S.
