Domestic abuse charges filed

A Waupaca man is accused of domestic violence after his girlfriend didn’t make him a sandwich.

Mickey J. Leiter, 41, is charged with felony bail jumping, misdemeanor battery and disorderly conduct.

On Jan. 16, Leiter was charged with felon in possession of a firearm. He was released on a $2,000 signature bond with the condition that he not commit any crimes.

Shortly before 6:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 19, Waupaca Police Officer Dan Wasrud was dispatched to an apartment on Western Avenue for a domestic complaint.

A woman told Wasrud that her boyfriend, Leiter, had been drinking all day and became angry when she did not have a sandwich made for him when he woke up.

She said Leiter began yelling at her about the sandwich and psued so close to her that his spittle was landing on her face, according to the criminal complaint.

When she held her arm out to keep him from coming any closer, Leiter allegedly grabbed her arm and twisted it behind her back.

She estimated that Leiter had consumed three pints of vodka that day.

Leiter told police that he could not remember arguing with his girlfriend due to the alcohol.

While police were questioning him, Leiter vomited several times, the complaint says.
