Clintonville recognizes veterans

Ceremony held at Veterans Memorial

Veterans were honored at the Veteran’s Recognition Ceremony in Clintonville on Nov. 11.

The ceremony began with church bell ringing.

Richard Beggs served as master of ceremonies, and Clintonville Mayor Judy Magee welcomed those in attendance. The invocation and benediction was provided by Rev. Richard Vanman of Family of Christ Assembly of God.

The Clintonville High School Choir sang the “Star Spangled Banner,” while the Clintonville High School band played “Armed Forced Salute.” Longfellow students also sang “The Brave.”

The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Mike Streicher, VFW Commander; Steve Kienast, DAV Commander; and Jim Young, American Legion Commander.

Master Sgt. Arlo Dumke USAF (retired) proved a special message to attendees.

After a firing squad salute by the American Legion, DAV and VFW, CHS band member Daniel Torrez closed out the ceremony by sounding “Taps.”
