Conto, John C.

John C. Conto, age 66 of the Town of Bear Creek, passed away unexpectedly, Saturday, December 5, 2015 at ThedaCare Medical Center, New London.

John Charles Conto was born on October 1, 1949 to Valentino & Lorraine Conto in Sheboygan, WI. He graduated from Sheboygan North in 1966. John went on to Lakeshore earning a degree in marketing; as the class president, he was chosen to give the commencement address. He then worked for J.C. Penney until 1978, when he moved to Clintonville to manage the Merc. In 1987 he became a financial planner, graduating from the College of Financial Planning and earning his CFP. John shared an office with Thiel & Associates for 27 years. John also served as a past president of the Clintonville Lions Club. He met his future wife Kathy on the set of the production Oklahoma! through the Clintonville Community Players. The couple was united in marriage on May 22, 1988 and have ten children. John had a love for motorcycles for over 47 years; his latest bike was on order, a Harley Davidson Softail Fatboy. He will be remembered for his seven-layer cakes, great barbeques, time around the fire-pit, fireworks, and boating and fishing with his family.

He is survived by his wife: Kathy. His children: Matthew (Connie); Ethan (Ashley); Becky (Mike); Anastasia (Adamm); Anthony, Kyle, Trisha, Erica, Michael, & Bubba. His brothers: Dan (Edna) Conto; Don (Katie) Conto. He is further survived by his in-laws Lyle (Janet) Hansen; sisters-in-law Karen (Don) Heiman; Diane (Dean) Knaack; Lorna (Rick) Tiberg; Patti (Gary) Ruehle; Pam; brothers-in-law Dan (Jan) Young; Kurt Barnes; as well as several nieces, nephews, and their families & many friends.
He has joined in God’s glory, his parents; his very special grandmama Anastasia; aunts & uncles; a sister-in-law Helen; a niece Danielle; & special friend Jim Dilley.

Funeral services will be held 11 AM Wednesday, December 9, 2015 at Bethany Evangelical Free Church, Clintonville, with Greg Peterson & Steve Charlier officiating. Friends may call at the church from 9 AM until the time of the service. The Eberhardt-Stevenson Funeral Home & Crematory, Clintonville is assisting his family.
