Hansen, Dorothy Ann (Shadinger)

Dorothy Ann (Shadinger) Hansen passed away at the Lutheran Home in River Falls, Wisconsin on Monday, December 7, 2015 at the age of 89.

Dorothy is predeceased by her husband, Randolph Hansen; son, John Hansen; son-in-law, Paul Robinson, and brother, Thomas Shadinger. Dorothy is lovingly remembered by her sister, Mary Alice McMahon; daughters, Dianne H-Robinson and Karen (Tim) Peterson; daughter-in-law, Sharon Hansen and grandchildren: Kerri and Kim Hansen, Amanda and Aaron Robinson, and Alyssa Peterson; as well as nieces, nephews, and many great-nieces and great-nephews.

Dorothy was born in Peru, Indiana on February 8, 1926. She graduated from Lagro High School in 1944 and went on to earn a graduate nurse degree from Indiana University in Bloomington in 1947. She continued her education at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor and earned a degree in anesthesia. She worked as a nurse anesthetist in Waupaca, Wisconsin for 36 years before moving to River Falls in 2006. Dorothy enjoyed playing bridge, quilting, needlework and tending to her African violets.

A private memorial service was held at the Lutheran Home Chapel in River Falls, Wisconsin. Burial will be at a later date in Lakeside Memorial Park Cemetery in Waupaca, Wisconsin.
