Stars win two more games

Area girls’ hockey team remains undefeated

The Fox Cities Stars girls’ hockey team remains undefeated with a 6-0 record following two victories at home last week.

Fox Cities 3, Appleton 0
New London goalie Hannah Buchman stopped all eight of Appleton United’s shots on goal to shut out the visiting team on Saturday, Dec. 12.

The Stars scored one goal in the second period and put in two in the third. They took 37 total shots according to Wisconsin Prep Hockey.

Hortonville’s Alli Mork had an assist on the final goal of the night, 13 and a half minutes into the third period.

Fox Cities 3, Madison 2
The Madison Metro Lynx pulled ahead 2-1 in the first period, but two goals by the Stars in the third period turned the game around on Friday, Dec. 11.

Hortonville’s Ally Fox had an assist on the winning goal 11 minutes into the third period.

Buchman made 26 saves.

Upcoming games
The Stars will play two more games in 2015 at their rink at Tri-County Ice Arena in Neenah.

On Saturday, Dec. 19 at 2 p.m., the Stars will face Hudson. The following week on Tuesday, Dec. 22, at 7 p.m., the Stars will play Stoughton.

The Fox Cities Stars are a co-op varsity hockey team led by Xavier High School in Appleton. Buchman of New London High School and Fox and Mork of Hortonville High School play on the 10-school team.
