Arlie “Bub” Bonnell, age 84, of Waupaca passed away Thursday, January 14, 2016 at Theda Care Medical Center in Appleton.
Arlie was born on September 4, 1931 to the late Elwood and Lucy (Hopkins) Bonnell in King, WI. He joined the Navy on October 4, 1951 in Chicago, IL and was honorably discharged on September 29, 1955. He worked as an iron worker and was a member of the local 383 for 46 years. He was an avid fisherman, enjoyed fishing for trout. Arlie married Roseann Gross on March 27, 1963 in Rockford, IL, she preceded him in death on December 4, 2011. He is also preceded in death by his twin sister, Arlene.
Arlie is survived by his daughter, Lynn of Waupaca; granddaughters, Jennifer (James) Stone of Waupaca, Katelyn (Cody) McKay of Waupaca; great-grandchildren, Hailey Stone, Aiden Stone, Alizabeth McKay, Philip McKay; sister, Audrey Roglitz of Oviedo, FL; brother-in-law, Louis Gross of Waupaca; also many other nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. on Thursday, January 21st at Holly Funeral Home in Waupaca. Private graveside services will be held at a later date at Lakeside Memorial Park in Waupaca. Online condolences available at www.hollyfuneralhome.com
