Radio trivia contest in Waupaca

Three area community radio stations are working together to bring a weekend of trivia to the Waupaca-Waushara region.

Radio stations 99.1 WAUP and 96.3 WILW, based in Waupaca, and 105.1 WMNM in Waushara County will present the first “Pac-Shara Pursuit” radio trivia contest.

Twelve hours of trivia will take place on Saturday, Feb. 27, beginning at at 10 a.m.

Each hour, approximately eight questions will be asked with teams having the chance to call in with an answer.

The team with the most points will win, but the weekend will actually be meant just to have fun.

“Each of the three stations participating in broadcasting this trivia contest are here to serve our communities. While we each have a different mission, we are coming together to bring a weekend of fun to our communities in the dead of winter,” said Joshua Werner, of the city of Waupaca’s WILW radio.

He said, “In our region, Stevens Point is well known for their annual trivia contest in April. We hope to bring a small sampling of that excitement to our area.”

Teams may register now until Feb. 20 at www.triviaradio.com.

For this inaugural year, there is no cost for teams to participate.
