Iola-Scandy swimmers compete against Marathon, Brillion
Several members of the Iola-Scandinavia Thunderbirds placed first Jan. 23 at a three-team meet at the Iola-Scandinavia Community Fitness & Aquatic Center.
The Marathon Manta Rays and Brillion Blue Dolphins also competed at the meet.
Firsts for the T-Birds went to:
• Ages 8 and under: Ethan Lashua, 25-yard butterfly, 25 freestyle, 25 backstroke, 25 breaststroke, 50 freestyle; Levi Cullen, Cashton Cullen, Lashua and Ethan Hass, 100 medley relay; and Hass, Cashton Cullen, Antek Linde and Lashua, 100 freestyle relay.
• Ages 9-10: Luke Sperl, 200 freestyle, 50 breaststroke, 50 backstroke and 50 freestyle.• • Ages 11-12: Amber Sperl, 200 individual medley, 50 freestyle, 100 freestyle, 100 backstroke and 100 breaststroke; and Sperl, Cassidy Kostuch, Eli Wangelin and Luke Sperl, 200 freestyle relay.
• Ages 13-14: Kaitlyn Kostuch, 50 backstroke; Owen Vassar, 100 butterfly and 50 freestyle; and Kelsey Leaf, 100 breaststroke.
• Ages 15-17: Ethan Olson, 100 butterfly, 200 IM and 100 breaststroke; Daniel Parks, 50 freestyle, 100 freestyle and 100 backstroke; Dylan Kostuch, 50 butterfly and 50 breaststroke; and Elise McNair, 50 backstroke; Parks, Vassar, Kostuch and Olson, 200 freestyle and 200 medley relays.
