An afternoon with Harry Potter

Scandinavia Public Library to host event

The second annual Harry Potter Book Night will be celebrated throughout the world on Thursday, Feb. 4, and the Scandinavia Public Library ready to host its own Night of Spells.

Young wizards, witches and Muggles can fly in at any time between 2:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. for an afternoon of games, crafts and other activities inspired by the magical world of Harry Potter.

Patrons will begin by answering questions from the Sorting Hat to discover which house they belong to, then they can compete for house points by completing several challenges.

Activities include wand making, a Harry Potter scavenger hunt, practice writing with a quill pen and ink, mixing up a fizzing potion, and practicing the art of tea leaf reading.

Attendees can also try their reflexes at Quiddich Pong or test their knowledge of the wizarding world with the Ultimate Spellathon Trivia Challenge.

Reservations for this event are not required, but will be appreciated. For reservations, call the library at 715-467-4636 or speak to one of the librarians.
