After a slow start, the Bulldogs regrouped to turn out a solid win over the Shawano Hawks on Friday, Jan. 22.

The Bulldogs won 46-38 to lift their Bay Conference record to 5-3 and overall record to 10-5.

“We shot the ball a little better, as evident by our seven total three-point baskets, and that helped our confidence throughout the game,” Bulldogs head coach Troy Krause said. “We made it a little interesting down the stretch by missing a few free throws, but in the end the girls were able to close it out.”

The Bulldogs led 20-14 at the half.

Leading Scorers: Leah Porath 20, McCoy Mix 10. Leading Rebounder: Porath 6, Mix 5. Three-pointers: Mix 3, Porath 3.

GREEN BAY – Perseverance in a shaky Bay Conference game helped the Bulldogs come out on top on Jan. 19.

New London trailed behind Green Bay East 19-17 at the half but pulled forward with a 28-point second half.

“It was a bit of a struggle throughout the game as we struggled to take care of the ball,” Krause said. “We seemed to lack the necessary energy to really get us going. In saying that, the girls found a way to persevere and made some big free throws down the stretch to secure the win.”

Leading Scorers: Mix 10, Macy Madsen 9, Porath 8. Leading Rebounders: Cassidy Pethke 6, Kali Rohan 5. Three-pointers: Mix 2, Porath 2.
