Longfellow club prepares for next event
The Longfellow Running Club has been busy training since returning from Christmas break.
The next event for the running club is the Seroogy’s 5K, which will be held in De Pere on Saturday, Feb. 6.
With the recent cold temperature, the club has been training inside, getting a good dose of not only cardiovascular training, but also strength and agility training. Everyone continues to work hard and runners have enjoyed the opportunities to use battle ropes, training mats, jump ropes, stationary bikes, mini-tramps, medicine balls, weighted jump ropes, agility ladders and resistance bands.
“Game days” continue to be favorite days for club members. These days include Ultimate, Soccer, Bumble Bee Tag, Blog Tag, Flag Tag and Hospital Tag. The best part about these games is that runners get a great workout, while building a sense of “team” and having fun.
Club members appreciate the public being watchful as club members run the sidewalks and streets of the community before school.
