Madson, Julian C.

Julian C. Madson, age 97, of Bethany Pines passed away on Thursday, February 4, 2016 at Theda Care Medical Center-Waupaca.

Julian was born in the Town of Scandinavia on February 1, 1919, the son of the late William and Augusta (Hansen) Madson. On October 16, 1943, Julian married Belvina Kostuch at St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church and she preceded him in death on July 20, 2007. He farmed in the Town of Scandinavia for over 50 years. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, a church usher, retired after 30 years from Scandinavia Fire Department, 11 years as Chief, member of the Scandinavia Coop Board and Fire Warden for 20 years. Julian loved woodworking, bowling, hunting and playing cards.

He is survived by his daughter-in-law, Pam Madson, Scandinavia; his grandson, Todd (Rachelle) Madson, Green Bay; his granddaughter, Paula Madson, Scandinavia; his step-grandson, Kevin Mork, Scandinavia; a great-grandson, Noah Madson and his sisters, Verna Schiek, Hartland, WI and Donna Petersen, Peru, IL. and many nieces and nephews. Julian was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Belvina; his son, Stephen Madson; and two brothers and two sisters.

The Funeral Mass will be on Tuesday, February 9, 2016 at 11 a.m. at St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church, Waupaca with Father Amalraj Roche, officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be on Monday evening from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Holly Funeral Home and also on Tuesday morning from 10 a.m. until the time of services at the church. A memorial fund has been established in Julian’s name.
