Let the voters decide in 2016

Reader looks at Republican candidates

I ran across an interesting article about Sen. Lindsey Graham when he spoke at the Washington Press Club Congressional dinner.

Graham said he is disgusted with the Republicans who are embracing Donald Trump as a presidential candidate. “My party has gone bats*t crazy,” he said, referring to Trump as a “nut job.”

When asked if he agreed with Trump that Ted Cruz was the biggest liar in politics, Graham replied, “Too close to call.”

After dropping out of the presidential race because of little support, Graham gave his endorsement to Jeb Bush, who shortly later also gave up his presidential bid. At the dinner, Graham said, “I endorse Donald Trump and hope that the Graham magic still exists.”

Graham then said, “If you killed Ted Cruz on the floor of the Senate, and the trial was held in the Senate, nobody would convict you.”

There are 24 of Graham’s fellow Senators up for election in 2016. Following GOP logic regarding President Obama nominating a Supreme Court justice, they really should not be allowed to vote on any upcoming legislation until after the elections. Let the voters decide.
