Gorman, William “Bill” D.

William “Bill” D. Gorman, age 59, Clintonville, passed away on Monday, March 21, 2016 peacefully at his home.

He was born on July 16, 1956, New London, son of Mary Ann (Gough) Gorman and the late James Gorman. He graduated Little Wolf High School (Manawa) ’74 and Fox Valley Tech with his apprenticeship in plumbing, eventually obtaining his Masters in Plumbing license. In 1980 he married Sandra (Sandy) Volden of Westby WI. They moved to Clintonville in 1986 where they would raise their two daughters, Crystal and Kimberly. Bill loved the outdoors. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed showing newcomers the ways of hunting from the learn to hunt program to hunters safety, young and old. He also enjoyed working outside on projects. He loved spending time with his family and friends and he would talk about his grandsons as long as someone would listen.

Bill is survived by his loving wife Sandy (Volden); daughters, Crystal (Patrick) Winter, Ballwin, MO, and Kimberly Gorman, St. Charles, MO; grandchildren, Anderson and Reece. He is further survived by his mother, Mary Ann (Gough) Gorman; brothers and sisters: Bob (Barb) Gorman, Kate (Jack) Korb, Ellen (Mike) Bodoh, and Pat (Kim) Gorman; brothers-in-law, Rob (Nita) Leeder, John (Lena) Volden; sisters-in-law, Sue (Jim) Brownell, Carrie (Dan) Reach, Theresa Hughes and Cheryl Volden, along with many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, James Gorman, and nephew, Nicholas Chambers; parents-in-law, Marvin and Betty Volden and brother-in-law, Peter Volden.

Funeral services for Bill will be held on Tuesday, March 29, 2016 at 11 a.m. at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, (Lebanon), New London with Rev. Msgr. Dennis Lally officiating. Visitation will be held on Monday, March 28, 2016 from 4-7p.m. at the Cline-Hanson-Dalhke Funeral Home, Manawa and also at the church on Tuesday from 9:30 until the time of service. Burial will be in St. Patrick’s Parish Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family is suggesting a donation be made to a hunting and outdoor program dear to Bill’s heart, Shadows on the Wolf, W2529 Frontier Dr. Appleton WI 54915, Attn Tom Mijal.
