Autopsy in homicide investigation set for Tuesday

Authorities are investigating the death of a man whose body was found in a ditch on Airport Road near County Trunk D, near Clintonville.
A passing motorist called 911 shortly after 2:30 a.m. Monday.
Throughout most of Monday, detectives from the Waupaca County Sheriff’s Office and the Wisconsin Division of Criminal Investigation were at the scene combing the area for evidence.
Waupaca County Sheriff Brad Hardel confirmed that the death is being treated as a homicide investigation.
“We have not determined the cause of death,” Hardel said.
An autopsy is scheduled for 10 a.m. Tuesday.
Hardel, who spoke to the Waupaca County Post just prior to attending a briefing with investigators Tuesday, said the deceased man was in his mid-20s and from Clintonville. Further details about the man have not been released yet.
Investigators also executed a search warrant at a home in Bear Creek Monday. The man who lived there knew the victim and is being questioned by authorities.
